Position Overview:
As a Collision Painter, you will be responsible for preparing and applying paint to vehicles that have undergone collision repairs. Your role ensures vehicles are restored to their original finish, matching color and texture with precision. Attention to detail, knowledge of painting techniques, and adherence to safety and environmental standards are critical for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting by sanding, masking, and cleaning damaged areas.
- Mix, match, and apply primers, base coats, clear coats, and other finishes using spray guns and other painting equipment.
- Ensure paint application meets quality standards, color accuracy, and customer expectations
- Inspect finished surfaces for defects such as runs, sags, or orange peel and perform touch-ups as needed.
- Maintain and clean painting tools, equipment, and work areas according to safety and environmental guidelines.
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper handling and disposal of paint materials and chemicals.
- Collaborate with body shop technicians to coordinate repairs and paint schedules.
- Keep up to date with the latest painting techniques, materials, and environmental regulations.
- Document work performed and report any issues or delays to management.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a collision painter or automotive refinisher.
- Strong knowledge of paint mixing, color matching, and spray application techniques.
- Familiarity with paint booths, spray guns, and safety equipment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations related to automotive painting.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Relevant certifications or training in automotive painting preferred.
